ABOUT THE PROCESS:

Artist Babbu embarked on a creative journey by transforming a found object into a sculpture of a hand. She meticulously created a mold of the object and casted it using Ultracal 30. After sculpting and refining the initial cast, Babbu recasted it, ultimately producing an edition of 50 hands. Each hand carries the artist's personal touch and represents a profound exploration of the human form and its expressive potential.

Additionally, after the casting process, each hand in the collection is meticulously sanded by the artist, ensuring a smooth and refined surface. Babbu then applies her artistic touch by hand-painting each hand with meticulous attention to detail, bringing them to life with vibrant colors and subtle nuances.

To enhance their visual appeal and protect the delicate artwork, a light layer of gloss resin is carefully applied to each hand. This resin coating adds a subtle sheen, enriching the colors and textures while providing a protective finish.

Through the artist's meticulous sanding, hand-painting, and resin coating, each hand in the collection becomes a unique work of art, imbued with Babbu's artistic skill and personal touch. This attention to detail ensures that every hand is a testament to the artist's commitment to craftsmanship and the pursuit of aesthetic excellence.
